Hello Everyone!
I want to first say thank you to all the people who made this event possible and such a great day.  To all the volunteers, vendors, teachers, students and friends who came together to enjoy culture and wellness in the park and raise some money and lots of good vibes for the people of Tohoku.
Indeed, the actual sum donated is dwarfed compared to various companies and celebrities who may give, but what we offer in terms of warmth and compassion, what was created from our actions, will have great reverberations throughout the region.

The grand total raised was over 80,000 yen!! And counting as there are still people who want to donate.  All the money will be donated to the Red Cross Relief Fund for Tohoku.
For those who want to donate, please email ali@midorischool.jp.

Hello Everyone ^v^
日本語は英語の後に書いてあります。
The air is cooling down and it is just delightful to be outside in the evenings. To usher in the fall in style, why not come out and try yoga in the park as the sun sets?
My friend and yoga teacher Kayo is organizing a candle light yoga event at Shonai Ryokuchi Koen, in north-west Nagoya.
Sunday, Sept. 11th, starting from around 5pm~5:30, kinda casual.  People will be sticking around for a picnic afterwards until about 9pm, so please bring food and drink if you like.
Of course, bring a yoga mat and a blue sheet/plastic sheet if you have it.

Charity Event Report

Hello All!!
Thank you as always for reading this blog. I hope you find it helpful, uplifting, and fun.
This time, I want to report about the event we had last Sunday.
It was the first event for the For Japan Charity Event series. And I must say it was a lovely, moving and relaxing afternoon. We focused on mantra and how they are used in yoga classes. Rich and Rebecca from San Yoga shared their knowledge of the mantra from the Sivananda tradition, and the rest of us tried to chant along, while enjoying the soothing sounds.
11 participants joined the workshop and together we raised 23,000 yen for the survivors of the Tohoku Earthquake- Tsunami Disaster. Funds were donated to the Red Cross of Japan's fund for the disaster on Tuesday, August 30th.
Mantra seems to go so naturally with charity, as it in itself is a positive action, producing pure and loving energy within and around the chanter. We can all learn to use language in a positive and uplifting way, by carefully choosing what we say and how we express it.

Look forward to more charity events with For Japan in the fall!
Peace and Light
